lettuce leaf type

"Lettuce leaf" is the name I've always heard used for lichens that grow on the sides of rocks looking quite like lettuce leaves when they are thoroughly hydrated, and then drying out to crisp, blackish things. Sometimes they are also called "lungworts." They dry out so quickly, I found that I needed to go out right after a heavy rain if I wanted to photograph them at their best.
